Join NZ Wineries at the 2017 World Bulk Wine Exhibition

On November 20th and 21st, New Zealand Wineries will for the first time be exhibiting at the World Bulk Wine Exhibition.

Now in its 9th year, this annual event based in Amsterdam has grown to become the pre-eminent meeting of the global bulk wine market participants with a reported 22 different countries from both the new and old world that represent circa 75% of the global bulk wine trade.

It’s not surprising that the interest in this show has increased over the past 9 years given that globally the bulk wine export volume is edging so very close to the packaged wine export volume. This is primarily due to the greater volume per 20” container that can be shipped with bulk wine (24,000 L vs. 10,000 L as packaged) and in many cases the better economics of packaging and logistics being undertaken “in market”.

The 2017 exhibition, in particular, will be fascinating to observe given the recent natural disasters in North America, Spain and Portugal in addition to a challenging vintage in France which will no doubt place some supply chain pressure in a number of markets.

New Zealand Wineries will be one of only four exhibitors and two actual wineries and as such we expect great interest in our current and future production of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in addition to interest in Pinot Noir both from the Marlborough and Central Otago regions.

Established in 1997, New Zealand Wineries is the industry’s only independent contract processing (also known as contract crush) and commercial winemaking company located in the middle of the Marlborough region. With many highly recognisable clients ranging from multinational corporations to small boutique operations, New Zealand Wineries has both the specialist knowledge and technical capability gained over the exponential growth of the Kiwi industry over the past 20 years.

New Zealand Wineries has the capability to provide short to long-term bespoke winemaking services that are individually designed to fit within clients commercial and technical requirements.

With a strong company culture focused on enhancing long-term value for all stakeholders, New Zealand Wineries is exceptionally well placed to continue its service to the industry in line with the growth expectations.
